Reading the excerpt of the scientific paper i wonder how prescribed fires and traditional ecological knowledge fits into this debate over forest management vs unmanagment. I believe it is an important perspective that is absent and might lead to wrong conclusions. I am also surprised that the paper states that forest fires are not increasing as this appears contrary to the scientific consensus around climate change making wildfires more likely, and it fails to account for the most recent and devastating wildfires of the last 4 years.
